Vanesa Torres Colón is the interim Executive Director of the Center of Investigation and Public Policy / Abre Puerto Rico. Vanesa has worked in the administration area in both the governmental and private sectors. She has vast experience in the areas of finance, research, administration and project management. In the government sector, she has obtained several recognitions, such as: The Office of Internal Tax Services of Puerto Rico in 2007 and 2008 for operating the largest production center on the island; the Human Resources Office of ELA (ORHELA) in 2008, with the Manuel A Pérez Award nomination; and the Municipality of Caguas with the Initiative and Empowerment Award 2008.

In the Municipality of Caguas, she directed the virtual surveillance creation project, the Library Service Circuit, the reorganization of the fleet and the investigation of the municipality's utilities, for which she was recognized at the state level by ORHELA.

Vanesa has a master's degree in Public Administration with specialization in Management and Budget and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentration in Production and Operations Management, both from the University of Puerto Rico.
